Nottingham Forest’s summer signing Elliot Anderson suffered a heavy knock in the recent friendly against Millwall.

Nuno Espirito Santo‘s side were able to come out on top in the game against the Championship outfit but they certainly left their mark.

Forest have won two of their three opening friendlies in what has been an impressive start to the summer for the Reds.

Perhaps the only downside to Forest’s pre-season has been the injury which was sustained by Anderson against the Lions.

Next up for Forest is their final game in Spain against La Liga 2 side Elche on Friday night and an injury update has emerged ahead of that meeting.

Elliot Anderson injury latest

On Tuesday night, Anderson was forced off shortly before half time in Spain after being on the end of a crunching tackle from Millwall midfielder George Saville.

The £35m summer signing was unable limp off the pitch under his own power with two Forest physios helping him to the sideline.

Saville’s tackle was even questioned by one Millwall journalist who suggested the 28-year-old may have gone over the top physically considering the game was only a friendly.

‘Did lots of tidying up in front of defence when he could, although some tackles perhaps erred on the unnecessarily physical side for a pre-season outing,’ wrote journalist Toby Bryant for London World.
