The Foxes have welcomed four players already this summer with Abdul Fatawu, Caleb Okoli, Michael Golding, and Bobby De Cordova-Reid arriving at the King Power Stadium. However, midfielder stalwart Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall departed for Chelsea earlier in the window leaving a gap in the midfield for the new manager who admit the need for new additions before the season gets underway.

“We know where we want to strengthen, we know where we want to improve. If we can improve a starter in the team, we’ll do that, and we know we need to strengthen the competition in some places as well,” said Cooper.

“The step into the Premier League is a huge one. The guys who have been there before, including myself, we need to remind ourselves what’s coming. For the guys going up for the first time, we’re really trying to prepare them for how it feels.Tom Cannon in action for Leicester City during their pre-season friendly with Palermo.

“We’ll be working hard on the pitch. We’ll be working hard off the pitch to try to bring players in. Hopefully we’ll continue to improve and progress and be ready for that first game.”

Here we take a look at who has been linked with the club and linked with a move away with just two weeks before the new campaign gets underway.

City’s Tom Cannon looks to be staying with the Foxes for the opening couple of weeks of the season while Jamie Vardy recovers from injury.

The 37-year-old striker could miss the first fortnight of the new Premier League campaign which, according to The Sun’s Alan Nixon, is preventing manager Steve Cooper from loaning out the 21-year-old Ireland front man who, it is claimed, is wanted by three Championship clubs.

Vardy has played less than an hour of football so far this summer after picking up a knock in City’s pre-season opener against Villarreal.
