Crystal Palace and Fulham have agreed on a deal in the region of £30 million for Danish defender Joachim Andersen, with the Eagles’ centre-back set for a medical this week. This has been a challenging summer for Palace, who lost Michael Olise to Bayern Munich and have been embroiled in a transfer saga with Newcastle United over Marc Guehi.

LondonWorld understands Andersen changed agents this summer after entering the final two years of his current contract. One of the reasons he changed agents was to see if he could secure a deal with the South London club, as he sought to become one of the highest earners at Palace. His move to Fulham, where he previously played on loan before moving to Palace, reportedly includes wages in the six-figure range. Palace will now move quickly to find a replacement.

Earlier in the summer, the Eagles signed Chadi Riad from Real Betis, but he was intended to add cover and strengthen the team. However, the Eagles could now lose both Andersen and Guehi, who is still being pursued by Newcastle before the transfer window closes.

LondonWorld has been told that Palace admire Wolfsburg centre-back Maxence Lacroix, who played 24 times under Palace boss Oliver Glasner during their time together at Volkswagen Arena.

On the arrivals front, Palace also signed Japanese international Daichi Kamada, who made his debut in the 2-1 defeat to Brentford over the weekend. Tottenham and Liverpool have also been chasing Eberechi Eze, but LondonWorld sources close to the player have said the club will not sell him this summer. The player reportedly has an unwritten agreement to stay for another season and reassess his future next summer.

Leicester City are also reportedly monitoring Jordan Ayew’s situation in South London, with the Ghanaian having fallen under the radar recently. Palace believe they have an adequate replacement in Ismaila Sarr, who joined this summer from Marseille if Ayew were to leave in the final week of the transfer window.
