The Reds have only signed two players since the end of last season, with Giorgi Mamardashvili and Federico Chiesa coming in.

While both Mamardashvili and Chiesa could prove to be good signings, Liverpool supporters may be frustrated that areas such as defensive midfield and centre-back have not been addressed.

Perhaps the main candidate to keep a watch over is Caoimhin Kelleher. Nottingham Forest have been trying to sign Kelleher and one of the dominoes in that saga may have just fallen.

With just hours left in the window, it seems unlikely that Liverpool would let Kelleher leave now.

The Irishman is still a very valuable member of the squad and his quality as Alisson Becker’s understudy should not be taken for granted.

If the Reds were to sell Kelleher, then they’d certainly have a big job on to replace him.
