Burnley boss Scott Parker has said Zian Flemming was ‘brilliant’ against Leeds United over the weekend.
Burnley handed the Dutchman a start at Elland Road and he caught the eye as they went on to win 1-0 against Daniel Farke’s side. Winger Luca Koleosho scored the only goal of the game in West Yorkshire in the first-half.
Flemming, 26, joined the Clarets on a season-long loan deal from Millwall on deadline day. He was acquired to bolster their attacking options.
Parker was impressed with what he saw from his new recruit last time out and he said, as per a report by the Burnley Express: “I thought he was brilliant. There were seven brand new players starting in the team. I will reiterate, is the team looking like we want us to look? No, of course not. Every player in that changing room will see that as well.
“But there is no magic wand in what we do as coaches, although people from the outside might suspect that is the case. The reality is, it’s not. It takes time, everything takes time. Certainly with playing style, that’s going to take time.
“What impresses me the most after a new team being together for just two weeks, and it’s what we asked for at Leeds and it’s what will define us and will be the foundation for us is the spirit and the determination and the mentality of not giving up. If that’s our core, if that’s what we stand for, we will be very tough to beat this year.”
Flemming looked a real handful for Burnley against Leeds United and held the ball up really well.
