The news outlet reported on their website [20 September] that Brazilian side Gremio put forward the offer in June but was duly rejected by the Hammers.

Antonio has started every Premier League match under new boss Julen Lopetegui this season, despite the signing of Niclas Fullkrug from Borussia Dortmund, and, has failed to score in any of his four outings.

West Ham United should have cashed in Michail Antonio

West Ham have endured an underwhelming start to the campaign after an incredible summer transfer window and currently sit in fourteenth position after picking up one win so far.

The Hammers have faced difficult opposition in the form of Aston Villa and Manchester City and have scored in all four of their fixtures but cannot find a way to outscore the opposition.

Danny Ings came to the rescue at Craven Cottage with his 95 minute equaliser securing a point against Fulham, the 32-year-old is far behind Antonio in the pecking order in East London but only needed 13 minutes on the weekend to do what the Jamaican has failed to do all season, score a Premier League goal.

With Fullkrug now a doubt for the London derby against Chelsea [Nizaar Kinsella] on Saturday 20 September, Lopetegui faces a difficult decision on who will lead the line for West Ham.West Ham United attacker Michail Antonio

Ings could be rewarded for his unlikely heroics last weekend with his first start whereas there is still a case to be argued that Antonio should be entrusted to end his goal drought at the London Stadium.
