Fulham will be without Carlos Vinicius when they welcome Newcastle United to Craven Cottage this afternoon. Vinicius, who spent the second half of last season on-loan at Turkish Super Lig side Galatasaray, has not featured for the Cottagers this season after picking up a calf injury.
The 29-year-old scored twice under Silva last year but will not add to his total against the Magpies later today. Speaking about the latest injury situation at the club, Silva said: “There’s not really any changes from the last game.
“Carlos Vinicius is still out but will start running from next week. Apart from that, all our other players are available.”
Newcastle United have won five-straight games at Craven Cottage and completed a league and cup treble over Fulham last year, winning 3-0, 2-0 and 1-0 respectively. Eddie Howe’s side head to the capital sat in 3rd place in the table and know a win would see them end the day top of the table.
Speaking about today’s opponents Silva was very complimentary about the team Howe has assembled, describing his opposite number as a ‘very good manager’. Silva said: “They are a very good side.
“Two years ago they reached a Champions League spot in a great season for them. They aren’t a club that needs to sell players and of course they had a very good manager.”
