The MLB postseason is underway and tempers flared on Sunday night between the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres. The Dodgers took Game 1 of the NLDS on Saturday with a 7-5 victory. However, the Padres responded in a big way with a 10-2 win as they smacked six home runs to set a franchise postseason record.

The game featured plenty of chippy moments between the National League West rivals, and one of them was Dodgers pitcher Jack Flaherty chirping at Manny Machado. Machado’s name is a sour one in Los Angeles, especially after his days with the franchise were a mixed bag.

Flaherty struck out Machado in the sixth inning and hurled some NSFW words toward the Padres’ third baseman.

Later in the game, Machado and Flaherty continued chirping. After the conclusion, Machado spoke about the back-and-forth between him and Flaherty. “He made good pitches,” Machado said. “He won the battle…It’s a lot of emotions going through the game…The emotions run through the postseason and that’s what the beauty of this is. I don’t think this is the end of it.”

The rivalry between the Dodgers and Padres is once again at the forefront of the MLB, especially with both teams playing well with plenty of stars in the lineup.
