The 6-foot-3 wide receiver played three seasons at the University of Tennessee, primarily as a backup for the Vols’ offense. Webb had limited action in 2024, recording six catches for 48 yards, which fell short of his performance in the previous year. His role expanded in 2023 when star wide receiver Bru McCoy was lost for the season due to injury. During that season, Webb registered 166 yards and one touchdown from 16 receptions, with his standout performance being a four-catch, 38-yard effort against Missouri.
Webb’s performance in 2024 earned him a season grade of 62.7 from Pro Football Focus, based on 99 snaps. This placed him fourth among Tennessee’s wide receivers. His best game of the 2024 season came against Chattanooga, where he recorded 19 yards on two receptions. Webb also had one reception against both NC State and Vanderbilt, and two catches against Kent State.
Over his three-year career at Tennessee, Webb accumulated 214 yards and one touchdown from 22 receptions. His freshman season in 2022 was a redshirt year, limiting his action on the field. Webb’s decision to enter the transfer portal followed an announcement on Friday afternoon, making him the first of four Tennessee receivers—along with Chas Nimrod, Nathan Leacock, and Nate Spillman—to declare their intentions to transfer. Webb is the first to officially announce his next destination.
Webb, originally from McEachern High School in Powder Springs, Georgia, was a highly regarded four-star recruit in the class of 2022. According to 247 Sports’ Composite Rankings, Webb was the 310th overall prospect nationally, the 46th best wide receiver, and the 28th top player from Georgia. He ranked as Tennessee’s fourth-highest rated commit for that year, second-highest offensive recruit, and the Vols’ top wide receiver prospect in the 2022 recruiting class.
Now, Webb has committed to Wake Forest, a program coming off a disappointing 4-8 season under head coach Dave Clawson. The Demon Deacons ranked 12th in the ACC for total offense last season, averaging 371 yards per game. Webb’s decision to transfer comes as Wake Forest seeks to improve its offensive performance in the upcoming season.
