Manchester City now want to sign Noel Buck from New England Revolution – a player who has been compared to Jobe Bellingham.

It was Tom Bogert of The Athletic who revealed this news.

So, what is the situation involving Manchester City and Noel Buck? Let’s take a look…

What’s the story?

Well, the 18-year-old is making a real impact in Major League Soccer right now.

Bogert claims that Arsenal are also watching Buck along with Manchester City, while Burnley and clubs in the Bundesliga are monitoring the teenager as well.

The England Under-19 international is said to be available for around £6.6m after going back to shine in the United States, following an unsuccessful trial with Tottenham.

In addition to his outstanding performances, Premier League clubs are attracted to Buck because he qualifies as a homegrown player – he is eligible to represent England thanks to his father.

The Arlington-born central midfielder has scored three goals in 24 Major League Soccer appearances so far this season, while also providing one assist.

Buck has one goal in his two England Under-19 appearances.

Who is Manchester City target Noel Buck?

Buck is not a household name as things stand, so a comparison to a better known player may be useful.

Interestingly, the New England Revolution No.29 has been likened to Jobe Bellingham – the younger brother of Jude Bellingham.

It was The Athletic who made this comparison, stating that Buck is a “flexible” player like the Sunderland No.7 as he can operate further forward, as well as in a more conventional midfield role.

Jobe himself has been compared to Jude Bellingham in terms of playing style – where exceptional athleticism is combined with strong dribbling, tough tackling and also an eye for goal.

Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as Manchester City and Arsenal compete for Buck’s signature.
