Premier League football is back, and what a way to return to action for Liverpool.

The Reds host Everton in the latest Merseyside derby this Saturday afternoon, searching for three points on home soil against their local rivals.

Jurgen Klopp’s side were victorious when the clubs last met at Anfield back in February, Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah on the scoresheet, and Liverpool will be hoping for a repeat of this performance this weekend.

Looking ahead to this upcoming fixture, four Liverpool supporters have shared their views as part of a weekly ECHO fan column.A message from Mark Kennedy - News - Lincoln City

The fact that we’ve made it through another long and dull international break is, perhaps, cause for celebration in itself! I can’t wait to get back inside Anfield on Saturday for a massive derby day. Obviously not all is positive at this stage though, with Andy Robertson facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines with a shoulder injury. It poses a big question for Klopp on whether to field Kostas Tsimikas or give Joe Gomez a go in the left-back role.

Based on performances so far this season, I’d definitely lean towards the latter option. Gomez has shone brightly when called upon for big games and been the more consistent option for the Reds. Obviously, we’ll be lacking some of the creativity from the defence without Robertson but I’m hoping we’ll have that in abundance with the likes of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai, who both put in solid performances for their respective countries during the break.A message from Mark Kennedy - News - Lincoln City

I’m expecting a tough and resilient Everton side who, despite their position in the table, won’t be a walk in the park to play against. Scorelines haven’t often haven’t done them justice this season and this one is going to be a battle as the Merseyside derby always is. Let’s hope the Reds show up from minute one.
