fresh Wolves information from BirminghamLive features a significant Premier League TV decision

According to reports, Wolverhampton Wanderers will be impacted by the Premier League’s plans for a significant change in TV schedule.

This season, one game has been shown live on either Monday or Friday night, with an early kickoff and a late kickoff frequently occurring in between the Saturday games at 3 p.m., and two games have been broadcast live on Sunday. However, The Telegraph claims things will alter.

It is claimed that 25% more Premier League games will be shown live. That will increase the number to four games which will reportedly be available to watch on Sundays, one of which will be a 6:30pm kick-off.

In women’s football, the Saturday 3pm blackout for women’s football is reportedly set to be dropped in an attempt to boost viewing figures. A meeting is claimed to have taken place in London on Monday to advance discussions as they hope to create the first billion pound women’s football league.

Private equity firm called ‘NewCo’ will reportedly run the top two women’s divisions independently. Talks are being centred on moving the 6:30pm kick-offs in the women’s football to a 3pm slot to grow audience numbers.

Five sets of 50 match packs are said to be put out to tender next month amid talks. Another meeting is scheduled to take place on Thursday with rights sell-off plans expected to be discussed.

The Premier League remain committed to Article 48 of UEFA’s rules which allow members to designate a two-and-a-half hour weekend slot when live football is banned from screens.
