Tottenham may have beaten Fulham fairly comfortably on Monday night, but Dejan Kulusevski is under no illusions that he and his teammates could and should play better.

A 2-0 win at home against a London rival would normally be cause for celebration, but Ange Postecoglou has demanded better from his team in the wake of the victory over Fulham and claimed his players took ‘liberties’ in the second half of the game (BBC Sport).

A fine goal from Heung-min Son in the first half gave Spurs the lead going into half-time, and James Maddison scored his first home goal for the club in the second half to double Tottenham’s advantage and kill the game.

While the Lilywhites didn’t really look like losing the game at any stage, they didn’t quite set the world alight as they have done

Speaking to Standard Sport after the win, Dejan Kulusevski insisted the team should do better and pinpointed a couple of areas they have to improve on.

He said: “We felt it of course, when we were playing. Normally in the second half, we play our best so it was a little bit strange but we have just got to come back stronger and keep the ball better.

“In attack, we lost too many easy balls, it can happen. We are humans so we have to come away from that and think of Friday.

“Number one, we have to keep playing [our] football. That is why we are winning. We have to get back to playing the way we can and be ready for Friday.”
