Willy Boly asserted his claim for a continued position in the team as Nottingham Forest overcame Chelsea 1-0 at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Anthony Elanga scored three minutes into the second half to give Forest the victory.

The most satisfying part of the victory over Chelsea, however, may have been the season’s first clean sheet.

Moussa Niakhate and Felipe were benched for the game, giving Boly another chance to start.

The 32-year-old has one more year left on his City Ground deal and is a seasoned professional.

Boly’s absence last season due to a hamstring injury was felt greatly. His absence caused a string of losses that nearly cost Forest their place in the Premier League.

His performance on Saturday went unnoticed. In actuality, Joe Worrall’s genius had a major role in that, but Boly deserves praise.

His incredible performance against a Chelsea team that cost an absolute fortune to put together was recognized by Who Scored.

The seasoned performer triumphed in five aerial contests, which turned out to be the most of any Forest player during the victory.

He had good footing as well. He won three tackles, blocked four shots, and made seven clearances.

Boly, a defender for Forest, escapes notice during the victory over Chelsea.

The Ivorian gave an outstanding display, demonstrating why he should have a role in season.

He also demonstrated his dedication to the cause. He could hardly walk afterward and appeared to take a knock toward the finish.

Boly should be able to play in the team’s upcoming match against Burnley if it’s not anything too serious, which is in a fortnight.

At Forest, the seasoned player still has a role to perform, and long may Boly’s form last.
