One of the strangest things about this season so far has been the fact that although newly-promoted Wrexham currently occupy one of the three League Two promotion spots, a huge portion of the fanbase believe that the team are yet to click. That may be true. One or two of the home performances have yet to hit the heights of last season that’s for sure, but one thing we can all agree on was that Saturday’s win at Meadow Lane was mightily impressive.

It was a classic away display from Parky’s boys and the victory was fully deserved. There were one or two eyebrows raised at the team selection prior to the game, with two midfielders selected as part of the back three.

Tom O’Connor and George Evans were imperious throughout however and apart from a couple of nervy moments I don’t think the hosts ever really looked like getting on the scoresheet. So following on from that fantastic day out in the Nottingham sunshine, below are five things we learned from Saturday’s game.Paul Mullin celebrates with Ollie Palmer and Wrexham team-mates after scoring against Notts County

Okay, perhaps that’s a bit of a stretch – I wouldn’t want them replacing Mullin and Palmer, but you get the point. These two players are the quintessential utility men and their quality was obvious from minute one to 96 on Saturday.
