A remarkable Jack Clarke statistic demonstrates why so many teams want Sunderland’s star.

The latest statistic regarding Jack Clarke shows yet another reason why so many teams are eager to snap up with the Sunderland winger.

As per @scoutedftbl on X, Clarke has proven himself to be the ‘most prolific dribbler’ in th

The 22-year-old was clearly very highly rated as a teenager when he earned himself a huge £10 million move to Tottenham Hotspur four years ago.

However, Clarke was never given a chance in the Premier League and was sent out on three rather unsuccessful loan spells before he arrived at Sunderland.

While the forward was far from his best during his loan stint on Wearside, he proved to be much more effective following the club’s promotion to the Championship.

Clarke netted nine goals and provided 12 assists in the second tier last season, resulting in Burnley chasing his signature with a number of bids.

However, he has managed to take it up another level this time round, already matching his goal tally in 32 less games.

Clarke has earned his mention in the discussion for the Championship’s best player and it isn’t just his goalscoring ability that has caught the eye.

SCOUTED wrote on X: “Sunderland’s Jack Clarke is the first player to attempt 100 and complete 50 take-ons in the Championship so far this season. Furthermore, the next most in both metrics are almost 20 behind him. He’s the most prolific dribbler in the EFL.”

Jack Clarke is a different player to the one that joined Sunderland on loan

I will be the first to admit that I was particularly underwhelmed when he chose to sign Jack Clarke on a permanent deal last summer.

The Leeds United academy graduate scored only one goal during his loan spell with the Black Cats, but somehow transformed into a completely different player in a much harder league.

Clarke was always one of our best dribblers and I would always back him one-on-one with a full-back, but he has now improved where nobody really expected was even possible. Combining his ability to run at defenders with an even better right foot has resulted in him becoming one of the best players in the Championship.Stoke City v Sunderland - Sky Bet Championship

Sunderland will have to work miracles if they are to keep hold of him next season
