Tottenham defender Micky van de Ven could be out until January.

Tottenham Hotspur could be without Micky van de Ven until January, according to Matt Law.

The 22-year-old defender picked up an hamstring injury during Spurs’ 4-1 loss against Chelsea in the Premier League on Monday night.

The north London club are yet to put a firm timescale on his return and they have delayed an initial scan. The Telegraph journalist has labeled it as a “huge blow” for Spurs, saying van de Ven is set for a lengthy spell out injured.

It has been suggested that he won’t require surgery, but it seems he will be out for this year at least after damaging his hamstring.

Van de Ven joined for a fee of £43million from Wolfsburg in the summer and he has been one of the standout performers for Tottenham this season.

Tottenham could also be without James Maddison for their upcoming Premier League game against Wolves. Maddison was taken off at the break after he picked up against injury against the Blues, and doubts remain about whether he would be risked this

Spurs will be without Cristian Romero who will miss the next three games, against Wolves, Aston Villa and Manchester City, through suspension.

Ashley Phillips, the 18-year-old signed from Blackburn Rovers in the summer, could now feature. To worsen the matter, Richarlison has said this week that he expects to go under the knife as well.
