Tottenham could move to sign a goal machine rivalling Harry Kane for the top goalscorer prize in the Bundesliga.
Serhou Guirassy: The striker has bagged 14 goals in the Bundesliga.
Tottenham have been encouraged in their reported pursuit of in-form striker Serhou Guirassy after the Stuttgart star opened the door to a potential switch to the Premier League. Reports suggest Spurs are one of several clubs keeping tabs on the Bundesliga hitman who has enjoyed a phenomenal start to his career in Germany, as he rivals Spurs icon Harry Kane for the top scorer prize
The 27-year-old has been a revelation since arriving at the Bundesliga club initially on loan from Rennes last summer. The German club exercised their buy option to sign Guirassy permanently and he has rewarded them with a flurry of goals so far this season.
Guirassy has bagged a remarkable 14 goals in just eight appearances so far this season, with only Bayern Munich talisman Kane posting a higher tally in the top five European leagues.
But the Guinea international is actually scoring at a higher rate than Kane, having scored 14 goals in 643 minutes – meaning he is finding the net every 45.8 minutes on average. Meanwhile, Kane’s impressive rate of 15 goals in 872 minutes gives him an average scoring rate of a goal every 58.1 minutes.
Harry Kane: The Englishman has only been bettered by incredible Guirassy’s scoring rate.
Spurs are thought to be keen on acquring the striker, who is available for just £15million in January due to a release clause written into his contract, as a bargain replacement after selling Kane for £100m earlier this summer.
The French-born forward has done little to quash speculation regarding his future, opening the door to a possible switch in the coming months after confirming he is aware of interest from the Premier League and beyond in securing his signature.
“I cannot hide these things – everyone knows the Premier League is one of the most competitive leagues in the world,” he told The Guardian. “But at this time I don’t close any doors. There are some very big teams in Europe and it’s not focused only on the Premier League
