The Chicago Bulls pulled off an improbable 120-113 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday night, bringing some cheer to a locker room that has been besieged by gloom and uncertainty over this roster’s future. Here are a couple of takeaways from the morale-boosting victory:

Nikola Vucevic was more aggressive

With two of the team’s “Big 3” out with injuries, all eyes were on All-Star big man Nikola Vucevic to step up and lead the Bulls. And he certainly did that, pouring in a team-high 29 points on 11-of-21 shooting, as well as grabbing 10 boards and dishing out six assists. The offensive outburst was timely as Vooch was coming off three sub-par performances where he scored in single digits.

“I just try to be a little more aggressive, whether it’s shooting or creating or trying to make the right plays for the team,” Vucevic said.

“I thought the guys did a really good job of finding me on the pops or in the pocket.”

Vucevic also shrugged off the notion that perhaps the Bulls can play better without either All-Stars Zach LaVine or DeMar DeRozan.

“We came together. It’s one game. Those are our two best players. If we want to achieve anything, we need them,” Vooch said.

Coby White continues hot streak

Coby White also kept his foot on the gas pedal, extending the best stretch of his career by scoring 23 points, dishing out seven assists, and grabbing four rebounds in a whopping 45 minutes. He also connected on three triples, pushing his total to 30 in his last seven games.

Another guard who also stepped up was Ayo Dosunmu. Buried in the team’s depth chart due to the number of guards on the roster, the former Illinois standout entered the starting five and played with supreme confidence. He played 39 minutes and totaled 14 points on 6-of-8 shooting to go with six rebounds, six dimes, and three steals.
