Her fourth appearance at the Alexandra Palace, Sherrock is entering the tournament full of confidence. “I can’t complain too much. I’ve had a week at the Modus Super Series and I was at Grand Slam,” she says of her preparation to Weekly Dartscast. “Going into the World Championship now I’ve got a couple of exhibitions. They’re good practice anyway, with obviously Michael van Gerwen, Gerwyn Price and all that. So I think, preperation wise going into it, I’m good.”

In a tough group at the recent Grand Slam of Darts, Sherrock acquitted herself well in losing efforts against both Michael van Gerwen and Rob Cross, plus took victory against Martijn Kleermaker. “Obviously I had Michael throw everything at me.
