The Philadelphia Phillies have one of the best offensive trios in Major League Baseball, according to MLB.com. The Los Angeles Dodgers trio of Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman came in at No. 1 in the new rankings, which came right after Ohtani’s agreement with the Dodgers. All three players have MVPs. It’s hard to argue with the logic. The site ranked the trio of Bryce Harper, Kyle Schwarber and Trea Turner as the sixth best offensive trio in baseball going into the 2024 season. They helped the Phillies reach the NL Championship Series in October. Per MLB.com:

With Harper’s season delayed by his recovery from Tommy John surgery and Turner taking some time to settle into his new digs in Philly, we only got a taste of the Fightins’ firepower in 2023. But from Aug. 1 through the end of the regular season, Harper ranked fourth in MLB in OPS (1.067), Turner ranked eighth (1.000) and Schwarber ranked 14th (.949). Harper is a two-time National League MVP who is coming off his third Silver Slugger award in 2023 after he returned from Tommy John surgery to play in 126 games, slashing .293/.401/.499/.900 with 21 home runs and 72 RBI as primarily a designated hitter. The Phillies anticipate he will be their starting first baseman in 2024. Schwarber is slotted as the Phillies’ primary designated hitter in 2024. The two-time All-Star has finished in the Top 20 in NL MVP voting each of the past two seasons. His slash line doesn’t lead you to believe he would be an effective leadoff hitter — .197/.343/.474/.817. But, he hammered 47 home runs, drove in 104 runs and drew 126 walks against an MLB-worst 215 strikeouts. Somehow, it works.
