Rob Price issues behind-the-scenes update on Leeds United midfielder Stuart Dallas

Rob Price, the Head of Medicine and Performance has revealed how Leeds United welcomed back Stuart Dallas at Thorp Arch.

The 32-year-old has been missing in action since February 2022 when he picked up an injury against Manchester City in the Premier League.

He broke his femur – a rare injury for a footballer – and has been out of action for a year and a half now but has returned to training.

He told the Official Leeds United Podcast: “All of the players who are on recovery went out and gave him a little slap on the back as he was running out to train because he’s one of the biggest characters and nicest guys within the squad that everyone respects and loves.

“So to see him back out on the pitch today was a good moment, but I don’t think anyone will be really content until he’s named in one of the squads.”

Everyone at Thorp Arch will be delighted to see Dallas back in action as it’s been such a long lay-off.

He was a pivotal part of the side that got promoted to the Premier League and was one of the first names on the team sheet for Marcelo Bielsa.

His versatility came in handy in the top flight as well and an argument can be made that if he wouldn’t have got injured, Leeds may have stayed up.

He’s also a popular figure in the dressing room and his energy is going to be infectious – something Daniel Farke will be aware about.

It remains to be seen how long it will take him to return but there’s a good chance that he could be back in action for the under-21s at least in the next few weeks.
