The debate surrounding Kawhi Leonard’s place in Toronto Raptors history is a very controversial one. Some believe Leonard is the greatest Raptors player ever, simply because he was the one who finally delivered a championship to the city. Others believe Leonard doesn’t even belong in the conversation, since he left after one season.
Most people fall somewhere in the middle of this debate, recognizing Leonard is an all-time great Raptor because he brought them somewhere they’d never been, while also believing he cannot be the greatest Raptor even because he was there for just one season.
During a recent episode of the Run Your Race Podcast, former Raptors forward C.J. Miles weighed in on whether or not Leonard should receive a state in Toronto, and said it’s hard to say yes, since he inherited a lot.
