Littler delivered a scintillating display at Alexandra Palace to ease beyond Christian Kist 3-0, racking up an average of 106.12 and seven 180s along the way.

He will next play Andrew Gilding and returns to action this evening. Hilariously, he was serenaded by ‘you’ve got school in the morning’ chants from the crowd.

‘I’m over the moon,’ Littler said. ‘I can’t believe how quickly I settled into the game.’

Speaking to Sky Sports, the bullish teenager added: ‘When I was walking on I was a bit nervous but, as soon as I found the rhythm, I was in.’
