Luke Littler has been snapped opening Christmas presents by his mum after setting the Paddy Power World Darts Championship alight.

The 16-year-old darts prodigy became the second youngest person to win a match at the tournament last Wednesday, showing experience well beyond his years to beat Christian Kist 3-0. And since defeating 2023 UK Open winner Andrew Gilding the following night, his star has risen to astronomical levels.

Darts fans have tipped Littler to become the next big thing, while legend Phil Taylor has backed him to become champion. But amidst all the hype, it is easy to forget he is still just a teenager.

His mum, Lisa, took to social media on Christmas Day to remind fans of exactly that. She shared a picture of the kebab-loving talent sitting by the Christmas tree and opening his presents.

“Just a 16 year old opening his prezzys,” she captioned it along with some smiling faces and hearts.

The post gathered over three million views as darts fanatics tried to make sense of how the most promising name in the sport can still be so young. “Brilliant. The joy of youth,” one replied.
