Teenage defender Ben Nelson has been handed his first Leicester City start with Enzo Maresca making seven changes for the FA Cup third-round tie at Millwall.
The 19-year-old, one of the top prospects to have come through City’s academy in recent years, made his debut for the club earlier this season and then featured in a cameo against Plymouth last month not long after signing a new contract. Now, he’s in the 11, with Maresca rotating considerably.
The City boss said he would make changes to allow some players a breather after a busy period over Christmas, and to give others a chance. He’s been true to his word with Wanya Marcal starting for the first time since August, Jakub Stolarczyk and Marc Albrighton starting for the first time since September, and with Callum Doyle in the 11 for the first time since his serious knee injury.
