Rob McElhenney, 46, diagnosed with 'host of neurodevelopmental disorders and learning disabilities'Wrexham co-owner and Hollywood star Rob McElhenney could not watch his beloved Philadelphia Eagles in the NFL playoffs as he attended the Emmy Awards on Monday night.

Back in November 2020, Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds joined forces with McElhenney – famed for creating and starring in ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ – to purchase Wrexham AFC amid plenty of fanfare. The duo have helped elevate the local community via popular Disney+ documentary ‘Welcome to Wrexham’, which has helped to raise the Dragons’ profile in the United States.

The move worked, with McElhenney and wife Kaitlin Olson attending the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards. McElhenney was awarded the Emmy for Outstanding Unstructured Reality Program for the docuseries.Rob McElhenney, 46, diagnosed with 'host of neurodevelopmental disorders and learning disabilities'

With the Eagles on the road facing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the wild card round of the NFL playoffs, McElhenney was pictured watching a pre-game show by Olson. McElhenney took to social media to repost the image along with the caption: “Who schedules the Emmys the same night as the @eagles #gobirds #FlyEaglesFly.”

McElhenney later posted a pic of himself with Olson and the award, along with the caption: “Worth it I guess Up the town #gobirds #FlyEaglesFly.”

Perhaps it was fortunate that McElhenney and his Eagles supporting family could not watch the full game.
