Jarrad Branthwaite celebrates scoring his team's second goal during the match between Everton and Tottenham Hotspur at Goodison Park on February 3, 2024Everton would have to hand over a “significant” amount of money to Carlisle United if man-of-the-moment Jarrad Branthwaite was ever sold. However, the Blues star’s mother has been speaking about his progress and potential transfer fees have not been on her lips.

Branthwaite, who headed in Everton’s dramatic stoppage-time equaliser against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday to earn Sean Dyche’s side a 2-2 draw, has been the Blues’ breakthrough star this term, making a string of commanding performances since coming back from a season-long loan spell at PSV Eindhoven. The 21-year-old – who penned a new long-term contract at the club on October 6 – has been one of the standout defenders in the Premier League in recent months, reputedly earning admiring glances from the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal and even Real Madrid. And some who have watched his remarkable progress believe that if he continues on his current trajectory then he could eventually match other English stars such as Jack Grealish and Declan Rice in being valued at a nine-figure (£100million) fee.Jarrad Branthwaite celebrates scoring his team's second goal during the match between Everton and Tottenham Hotspur at Goodison Park on February 3, 2024

Branthwaite’s mum Donna, who works for Revo Sports Management, the company that represents the player through agent David Reeves – himself a former Carlisle United captain – has matters other than her son’s increasing price tag on her mind, though. The News & Star report Carlisle United chief executive Nigel Clibbens as saying: “Jarrad’s mum was in the boardroom at the last home game – it was great to see her come back. We were talking about how well he’s doing, not how much money he’s going to be transferred for.Jarrad Branthwaite celebrates scoring his team's second goal during the match between Everton and Tottenham Hotspur at Goodison Park on February 3, 2024

“[We spoke about] the fact that we are really proud of him, and we watch every game he plays, and we’re cheering him on. That’s what Carlisle’s about. Good luck to Jarrad, long may he continue being a star and we can’t wait for him to play for England.”
