Hull City boss Liam Rosenior has said James Furlong is ‘one for the future’ following his arrival last summer.

Hull City swooped to sign the left-back from Brighton and Hove Albion last year but he has only made one competitive appearance for the Championship side this season.

Furlong, 21, featured for the Tigers in their FA Cup defeat away at Birmingham City but picked an injury in that game.

Rosenior has provided an update on the Tigers’ plans for the youngster, as per a report by HullLive: “Our plan for James when we signed him was as a development player. He’s still only 21-years-old. We signed him as someone with a lot of potential who at the right time if it was the right we would put him in the team.

“It’s taken him time to learn and adapt to the way that we work, but you can see his adaptation is getting better and better.

“I felt for him with his injury because that set him back after a really good performance at Birmingham (in the FA Cup), but he’s another one for the future.”
