Leicester City lawsuit could now force huge Premier League U-turn - WynessFormer Everton chief Keith Wyness has claimed Leicester City’s lawsuit could force the Premier League to U-turn and make their hearings public in future.

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – insisted fans need hearings to be “public and transparent” to understand potential punishments.

Leicester were charged with breaching the Premier League’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR) last week (22 March) despite currently playing in the Championship.

Enzo Maresca’s side will not face a points deduction for the current season, however, as fast-track for the punishment process was brought in after the club were relegated from the Premier League last year (2023).Leicester City lawsuit could now force huge Premier League U-turn - Wyness

The EFL has also hit the Foxes with a transfer embargo – and the Midlands side have hit back by starting legal action against them and the Premier League.
