Crystal Palace have registered initial interest in signing Leicester City’s Wilfred Ndidi on a free transfer this summer.
The midfielder, 27, will be a free agent this summer, with the six-year deal he signed at the King Power in 2018 coming to an end.
Ndidi has made 271 appearances for the Foxes – scoring 17 goals and picking up 17 assists – since joining from Genk in 2017.
The Nigerian international, right, is a defensive midfielder but has also been deployed at centre-back on a handful of occasions.
Jairo Riedewald, Will Hughes, Joel Ward, Nathan Ferguson and James Tomkins – either central defensive or midfield options – are all out of contract at Selhurst Park this summer.
Palace will welcome Cheick Doucoure back from injury at the start of next season and Adam Wharton will enter his first full Premier League campaign after a stellar start to life at SE25 since arriving from Blackburn in January.
Jefferson Lerma – who joined on a free transfer from Bournemouth last summer – has also been a hit for the Eagles this season.
