After a frustrating last couple of weeks, James Hill says the mission is to ensure Rovers go into the international break in a more buoyant mood by earning three points against Queens Park Rangers this weekend.
The AFC Bournemouth loanee made his first league start for the club in the midweek defeat to Coventry City and came closest to scoring against the Sky Blues when he thumped a powerful strike against Ben Wilson’s crossbar in the first half at the CBS Arena.
The 21-year-old defender impressed against Mark Robins’ hosts playing out of position at right back and hopes he will have done enough to keep his place when Rovers head to Loftus Road on Saturday
On a run of disappointing defeats, Hill says the squad is more determined than ever to ensure that tricky run doesn’t continue against the Hoops, who are managed by boyhood Rovers fan Gareth Ainsworth.
“We’re all saying how this is a game where we have to give it everything, the same as every game, but this one especially.” the defender said to RoversTV when previewing the trip to the capital.
“It’s going to take everybody, even the lads on the bench, to really crawl out a result.
“I feel it’s massive for all of us, the fans as well, who really do deserve the result, as we do. We need to put things right.
“We’re due a result. The way we’ve been training, we’ve played well, we’re a threat going forward and it’s a case of getting the three points and making sure we put things right.”
