West Ham had an offer for Wolves defender Max Kilman rejected on Saturday morning (22 June), according to Jack Rosser.

The Sun journalist reported via his personal X account [22 June] that the Hammers offered a deal worth £30million with add-ons, proposing to spread that fee across six seasons.

It is understood that the club are preparing another bid for the 27-year-old centre-back already, but are reluctant to go over the £35million mark this summer.

Julen Lopetegui will be desperate to add defensive reinforcements to his squad ahead of the 2024/25 campaign, having already missed out on Flamengo’s Fabricio Bruno.

Without Angelo Ogbonna anymore, and Nayef Aguerd being linked with a move away from the London Stadium, the Spaniard could be left with just Kurt Zouma and Konstantinos Mavropanos next season.

The duo were heavily criticised for their defending throughout last season as the Hammers only conceded fewer goals than Luton Town, Burnley and Sheffield United.
