Everton have been one of the busier WSL clubs this summer with six new signings so far. Now, they’ve extended the contracts of two of their current playing squad.

Identical twins Sara and Karen Holmgaard, who joined the club in 2022, put pen to paper on new deals. The 25-year-olds are Denmark internationals, although only Karen was named in the national team squad for the 2023 Women’s World Cup last summer.Sara and Karen Holmgaard of Everton

Manager Brian Sorensen expressed his delight at the pair’s extension and hopes they can put their injury problems behind them in the 2024/25 campaign. Both Sara and Karen have had spells on the sidelines through injury in the last two seasons.
