A look at the latest injury news surrounding Tottenham and Leicester City ahead of Monday night’s Premier League clash.

Tottenham’s opening game of the Premier League season is fast approaching, with the countdown to Monday night well underway. Spurs have spent significantly this summer, snapping up the likes of Archie Gray and Dominic Solanke on big-money deals.

Ange Postecoglou and his men will be determined to secure a top four finish this season, and a fast start will be important. Tottenham kick off their new season on Monday night against newly promoted Leicester City, and here we have rounded up the early injury news surrounding both teams.

Jamie Vardy – Out

Vardy picked up an ankle injury during a pre-season clash with Villarreal and will be sidelined for the opening games of the season. It’s expected he will be out until early to mid-September.

Coady picked up an injury during an open training session and has since been ruled out for a month. He will return at around mid-September and will miss the opening games of the campaign.

Patson Daka – Out

Daka injured his knee during Leicester’s final pre-season clash, against Lens. He limped off the pitch, suggesting the injury is not overly serious, but it looks as though Daka will miss the first couple of weeks of the season as a minimum.

Richarlison – Doubt

Richarlison’s Tottenham future remains in doubt. but the forward has also struggled with fitness, not playing at all in pre-season due to a calf injury. Postecoglou has said: “Richarlison should be back in the week – so we’ll get some of our top-end players back into the group which I think will help. Once we get back we’ve got 10 to 12 days before our first game and we’ll make sure we are ready.”
