David Moyes has reflected on some of his best memories from his time as West Ham’s manager.
For many West Ham fans, the best nights of their lives as supporters have come over the past three years. The fact that David Moyes took the club from relegation destined to European Champions in such a short amount of time may be recited often, but it’s rarely truly appreciated – it’s one of the most impressive feats in football.
Both home and away, there’ve been so many great games and they’ve all been marked with brilliant atmospheres.
While he may not always come across as the most fond of the East London faithful, Moyes does have plenty of positive memories with the fans. “The biggest thing was to get supporters back into Europe at West Ham,” he told Sam Allardyce on the No Tippy Tappy Football podcast.”They’d never been to European games, travelling away you know?”
“They love going away to games, we had them all over Europe, and that’s probably one of the things which I remember more than anything. Lyon, Sevilla, we were in all different parts all over Europe – it was fantastic!”
