Cincinnati Bengals Director of Player Personnel Duke Tobin Likes the Offensive Line Depth in 2021 NFL Draft - Sports Illustrated Cincinnati Bengals News, Analysis and MoreThe Cincinnati Bengals have suffered some of the unfortunate, predictable injuries often seen in the summer months, but, overall, their roster is in pretty solid shape. They face a tricky, but vulnerable opponent this Sunday at Paycor in the Patriots, wherein the team is promoting an “Orange out” event for the fans.

All eyes are on Cincinnati’s wide receiver group, with a potential mega-extension in the works for Ja’Marr Chase. However, the team’s other heavy investment at the position, in the form of franchise-tagged wideout Tee Higgins, is dealing with a hamstring issue.Cincinnati Bengals Director of Player Personnel Duke Tobin Likes the Offensive Line Depth in 2021 NFL Draft - Sports Illustrated Cincinnati Bengals News, Analysis and More

As great and largely consistent as Higgins has been for the Bengals, he’s had minor injury issues here and there. He popped up on the Week 1 injury report, but he squashed many concerns after Thursday’s practice.

It’s worth noting that Higgins has made an extra concerted effort to alter his diet and put him in optimum shape in a contract year. He’s reportedly cut out sweets and other extras to fine-tune himself for an outstanding 2024 campaign. It’s no secret that he’s on a mission to have a major bounce-back season after an uncharacteristic 2023 campaign.

If Higgins has issues with this, the Bengals are deep at this position. But, feeling “amazing” rarely points to a Sunday issue.Cincinnati Bengals Director of Player Personnel Duke Tobin Likes the Offensive Line Depth in 2021 NFL Draft - Sports Illustrated Cincinnati Bengals News, Analysis and More

Cincinnati is currently a major favorite in the season-opener, with FanDuel putting them as +8.5 on Sunday. Higgins being out would likely lead to a swing of several points, but for now, that appears very unlikely.
