West Ham United left-back Emerson Palmieri is being heavily linked with a late move to Galatasaray.Josko Gvardiol of Manchester City and Emerson of West Ham during the Premier League match between West Ham United FC and Manchester City FC at Lond...

With the Turkish transfer window still open for business, it has been claimed that Galatasaray could give West Ham a big decision to make with a bid for Emerson Palmieri.

West Ham signed Emerson Palmieri from our London rivals Chelsea in the summer of 2022 for around £13 million.

After a slow start to life at the London Stadium, the Italy international has proven to be a key player for us over the past year.

And Emerson has now firmly established himself as the first-choice left-back under new manager Julen Lopetegui.

With that in mind, it was a huge shock when it was suggested that Galatasaray could sign him. I never believed it could be possible, but what has Fabrizio Romano said on the matter?

Fabrizio Romano on whether Emerson Palmieri will join Galatasaray

It was actually claimed back in the summer that that Emerson Palmieri could leave the London Stadium, with a return to Italy thought to be on the cards.

However, the 30-year-old remained with West Ham in the end.

And Emerson’s future was thrown into doubt once again on Tuesday when shock links with a move to Galatasaray surfaced.

So, could the 30-year-old former Chelsea man really swap East London for Istanbul within the next 24 hours?

Highly respected football journalist Fabrizio Romano has just provided an update on Emerson.

The Italian wrote on his X account:Josko Gvardiol of Manchester City and Emerson of West Ham during the Premier League match between West Ham United FC and Manchester City FC at Lond...

Despite links with Turkish clubs, Emerson Palmieri has no interest in leaving West Ham. He’s staying at WHUFC, very happy there.

Selling Emerson not an option for West Ham

He is a vital player for us and we cannot afford to lose him with the next transfer window not set to open until January 1st.

Emerson has come on leaps and bounds over the past 12-18 months, and his ability on the ball and pace down the left hand side is incredibly important to the way that Lopetegui wants his team to play.

Aaron Cresswell is currently out injured as well, and let’s face it, he isn’t an able deputy for the former Chelsea man anyway.

Selling Emerson Palmieri to Galatasaray with the Premier League transfer window closed would be a kamikaze move from West Ham.Josko Gvardiol of Manchester City and Emerson of West Ham during the Premier League match between West Ham United FC and Manchester City FC at Lond...

Thankfully, it seems like the rumours surrounding the Italian have no legs though.

Just as I predicted on Tuesday when covering the report here on Hammers News.
