Ireland striker Callum Robinson has been told by his club boss that he needs to up his work rate and do more for the team if he’s to get into their starting XI.

Robinson, who came off the bench to score for Ireland in Monday’s Euro qualifying win away to Gibraltar, missed the start of the season with injury and has yet to start a game for Cardiff City, with seven sub appearances and no goals to date.

City manager Erol Bulut claims that Robinson is in his plans but he wants to see more effort from him and teammate Rubin Colwill.

“He (Robinson) scored in the cup game against Blackburn. Football, I will repeat myself, it’s not only about scoring and playing offensive football,” he said today.
