Mowbray was pleased with his stopper but less enamoured by the insufficient amount of added time at the end of the game and told Sky Sports: “Listen, I don’t want to talk about officials anymore. After I finish this season. I’ve had two bookings. I see every week. The crowd here let everybody know what they thought.

“I just get frustrated, you know, in a game like that. The same fourth official put 13 minutes up in our opening day against Ipswich. There was, I don’t know how many subs went on today, nine, ten? How many times the physio was on the pitch? Head injuries.

“And he put five minutes up. I just find it ridiculous, but you can’t argue with them. You have to just accept it and get on. It’s modern day football.”
