Leeds United defender Robin Koch is set to make his Eintracht Frankfurt loan permanent, sources have told Football Insider.

It is believed talks are now at an advanced stage between the Bundesliga outfit and the 27-year-old.

Koch has entered the final six months of his contract at Leeds and can now sign a pre-contract agreement with Frankfurt.

The eight-cap Germany international is currently on loan at the Waldstadion after leaving Elland Road following the Whites’ relegation in May.

He was one of several players to have a relegation clause in his contract allowing him to depart the club on loan.

The likes of Jack Harrison, Brenden Aaronson, Rasmus Kristensen, Luis Sinisterra and more all left Leeds on temporary deals in last summer’s window.

Koch has racked up 14 appearances in the Bundesliga for Frankfurt this season and even captained his new side in a 3-1 win over Hoffenheim in October.

The 27-year-old has also featured six times in the Europa Conference League this term and will play in the competition’s knockout stages from February.

He made 77 appearances across all competitions during his time with Leeds after joining from Freiburg in 2020.

The Whites paid a reported £13million for the centre-back, who started 36 of their 38 Premier League games in the 2022-23 campaign.

Daniel Farke’s side now have Pascal Struijk and Joe Rodon at the heart of the defence and are fourth in the Championship ahead of their next game against Cardiff on 13 January.
